  3. Troubleshooting the Feeder Machine Part 1

The Feeder Machine and straightener are precision instruments that can easily experience mechanical malfunctions if they are not used correctly or operated for extended periods of time. Let's explore how to troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions in the Feeder Machine.

Malfunction: Incorrect material feeding

1. Insufficient pressure inside the drum.

2. Material feeding length is too long.

3. Insufficient material feeding length.

4. Burs or grooves forming inside the mold.

Troubleshooting methods:

1. Increase the pressure.

2. Check for improper mold release causing material stretching.

3. Inspect if the roller width and guide template are suitable, and ensure that the mold and numerical control material feeding device are straight.

4. Check for burs or depressions on the stop plate and mold release template.

Magnitude and direction of material feeding errors:

1. Metal or other debris getting stuck in the material feeding roller or gears.

2. Interference in the material feeding cam, loose cam, or press movement timing.

3. Slippage occurring on the roller during material transport.

Solutions:

1. Clean the stains off the roller or gears.

2. Adjust the microswitches (L, S).

3. Slightly increase the pressure on the roller.

Sudden malfunction during the material feeding process:

1. Check if the NC Feeder Machine is set to the appropriate material quantity.

2. Excessive clearance between the rotor and Feeder Machine joint.

Troubleshooting methods:

1. Verify if the leveling machine is compatible with the NC Feeder Machine and if the distance, material arc height, and number of rotations of the press are appropriate.

2. Tighten the timing belt pulley properly.
